Kampala, Uganda — April 2026 President Yoweri Museveni has urged religious leaders to take an active role in transforming livelihoods by championing household-level wealth creation as a driver of national development. Speaking through State Minister for Economic Monitoring, Beatrice Akello Akori, at the grand opening of the 7,000-seat Life Restoration Ministries auditorium, the President emphasized that churches should guide believers not only in spiritual growth but also in economic empowerment. > “Believers should seek spiritual nourishment, but they must also engage in income-generating activities to sustain their households,” Akori said. —Government–Church PartnershipAkori noted that government and faith-based institutions are key partners in Uganda’s socio-economic transformation.
