LCV Chairperson Wilson Otto Celebrates Agago Athletics Team After Historic National Success

Agago District — The newly elected Agago District Local Council V (LCV) Chairperson, Wilson Otto, has met with the Agago District Sports Team to celebrate their outstanding performance in national athletics competitions and recognize their contribution to raising the district’s profile across Uganda.
During the meeting held today, Chairperson Otto congratulated the athletes and officials for their remarkable achievement of helping Agago District win 9 National Athletics Championships out of the 13 editions held since the competition was introduced in 2011.
Otto described the achievement as a reflection of the team’s hard work, discipline, commitment, and determination to succeed despite challenges faced in sports development.
“I congratulate the team for leading Agago to win 9 National Athletics Championships out of the 13 editions held since the competition began in 2011. This remarkable record reflects your hard work, discipline, and determination,” Otto said.
The LCV Chairperson thanked the athletes for making Agago proud and for continuously showcasing the district’s sporting talent on the national stage.
“Thank you for making Agago proud and for continuing to raise our district’s flag high across the country,” he added.
Otto further pledged continued support towards sports development in the district, emphasizing the importance of nurturing young talents and creating opportunities for the next generation of champions.
“Together, we shall continue to support sports and nurture the next generation of champions,” he said.
Agago District has over the years established itself as one of Uganda’s leading athletics powerhouses, producing talented runners who have competed successfully at national and international levels.
The district leadership says it will continue working with sports stakeholders, coaches, and athletes to strengthen training programs and promote athletics as a pathway for youth empowerment.
