KYANKWANZI, UGANDA — The Prime Minister, Robinah Nabbanja, today delivered a detailed presentation at the ongoing National Resistance Movement (NRM) Leaders’ Retreat taking place at the National Leadership Institute Kyankwanzi.Her presentation, titled “In the Corridors of Authority: The Political Dynamics of Coordinating and Implementing Government Business in Parliament,” focused on the strategic role played by the Leader of Government Business in Parliament in ensuring the smooth coordination, formulation, and passage of government policies and legislation.Nabbanja explained that this role is central to bridging the executive and the legislature, ensuring that government priorities are effectively presented, debated, and passed in Parliament. She noted that strong coordination has been instrumental in maintaining policy coherence and enhancing the efficiency of government operations.During her address, the Prime Minister also provided an overview of government business conducted over the last five years. She highlighted key legislative achievements and their impact on improving service delivery across various sectors, including infrastructure, health, and education. According to Nabbanja, these efforts have contributed significantly to national development and improved the livelihoods of Ugandans.She further emphasized the importance of continuous collaboration among leaders to sustain progress and address emerging challenges. Nabbanja underscored that effective leadership and unity within the ruling party are essential in driving Uganda’s socio-economic transformation agenda.The Kyankwanzi retreat has convened members of the 12th Parliament under the NRM to reflect on past achievements and strategize for the future. It is aimed at aligning leadership efforts towards protecting the gains made so far while positioning the country for a qualitative leap into a higher middle-income status.Nabbanja described the retreat as a vital forum for strengthening policy direction, enhancing coordination, and reinforcing commitment to national development goals.
